Meet Adrienne Michelle, a self-proclaimed Jersey Girl (currently cheating with Philadelphia) who loves to write about sex, love and relationships. She loves it so much that she’s decided to make a career out of it. Adrienne is currently in graduate school to become a clinical sexologist… (think Dr. Ruth or Sue Johanson…except the young, black, lesbian version.)
Give her time and you will be able to call her a relationship counselor, sex therapist, shrink, sexpert, and sex educator… but until then sick mind fuck (her words not mine) will have to do.
The Basics
1. Name: Adrienne Michelle
2. Age (You can give me the range…): 24… eeeek!
3. Yeah Yeah Yeah, we don’t like labels…..but umm: I’m a very queer femme 😉
Why You Rock
4. So what is your claim to fame?
Unparalleled research and education in the field of Human Sexuality, specializing in the lesbian community. Aside from, my cool ass blogsite, Lezandthecity.com.
5. What made you do what you are doing?
Having SO many questions about my sexuality, and no one to answer them, or at least provide some guidance or tips along the way.
6. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
I will be starting my own practice of sex therapy and relationship counseling for the lesbian community. I also aim to grow the readership of my blogsite, along with publishing a book of lesbian short stories. (And hopefully I’ll have a big old rock on my finger…)
Community Affairs
7. What do you think are the State of Affairs in the LGBT community present-day?
I’ll take marriage laws for $200, Kristi. I never thought it would such a hard fight to receive the same rights as my fellow humans (the heteros). If my love doesn’t hurt anyone, who are you to judge? For those who don’t think that gay people should get married, don’t you marry one!
8. What would you say to the young (and no-so-young) sister/brother who has decided to come out the closet?
It’s not easy; some people won’t agree. Some people may hate you. You may lose friends. But the only person you can be is yourself. If no one else is there for you, this community is. You will always have your rainbow family to lean on.
Just because I want to know..
9. What is your definition of pride?
I can tell you what it doesn’t mean. I doesn’t mean running around naked, with rainbow flags attached to your butt and sleeping with every gay/lesbian person you meet. It’s about self respect and dignity. Anyone can have pride, not just the LGBTQ community.
10. What is in your nightstand drawer? *eyebrow raise*
Haha! You nosey little lesbian you! I don’t have nightstands. What I do have are black wicker baskets full of PJs… but I know what you’re looking for… Whips, chains and nipple clamps… I keep those in the closet. 😉
A little extra: This isn’t a radio show, but there is nothing like a good shout out.
Lezandthecity.com is relaunching on January 1st! Please check out the new layout and content, get advice and read all the lovely lesbian bed time stories. Shout outs to my web designer and my partner @CEOatHeart (musiccomplexmgmt@gmail.com), my close friends and family (you know who you are) and those who have supported and continue to support me.
