Happy humpday! I have kinda been sucking on my SLSL posts as of late. This is mostly because my Mac is one step from the Apple graveyard and it aggravates me to no end. I’m going to do better *big smile*.
To be honest it wasn’t until I was watching Mother O‘s “Where Are They Now?” that I was inspired (and reminded that I was past due on a post).
Our newest indoctorate to the League of Extraordinary Lesbians is actually a pretty new member of the League of Any Kind of Lesbian, BUT THAT’S WHY WE LOVE HER. She is another shining example that goldstars are only important on preschool bulletin boards. Yes we are talking about the fabulous Jenna Lyons (of whom I have intense ocular envy).
Jenna Lyons has been a fashion icon since joining J. Crew over 20 years ago. In a world of super models and super egos, Jenna’s charm and charisma has made her a leader of the pack. She has definitely elevated J. Crew to a power fashion house as its President and Executive Director. How high you ask? All the way to the top, as FLOTUS Michelle Obama is one of the brand’s biggest fans.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know where you were with the lezzie proclamation heard round the fashion world was made… Okay maybe I am exaggerating a smidge but I was going for flare. After 9 years of being married to ex husband Vincent, Lyons publicly acknowledged her relationship with Courtney Crangi (yep Philip Crangi‘s sister) at Glamour’s 2012 Women of the Year Awards.

The thing that I love most about Jenna is her style, her self assurance, and her ability to make it look effortless. She doesn’t try to explain herself or her relationship.
“When I was young and people judged me for things I had no control over, that was really hard, so I’m incredibly open to people doing whatever works for them,” she said. “It’s just as surprising to me as it probably is to everyone else. It certainly is strange to wake up, at 44, and look at the person next to you and think: ‘Oh! This wasn’t what I expected.’ But I don’t think love works that way, and I am O.K. with that.” Snagged from the NYT
Jenna, you might not be a super lesbian but you are definitely something like it… thank you for keeping us fabulous.
