DOCUMENTARY: The Passionate Pursuits of Angela Bowen
I found this originally on the Advocate and just knew it was definitely worth the share. If you are looking for a positive way to support the black lesbian community and pay homage to our pioneers, this is an amazing project.
Award-winning documentary filmmaker Jennifer Abod brings you the life of her longtime partner Angela Bowen, a legendary black lesbian activist who overcame racism in the 1950s to become a classical ballerina, and later a beloved writer, educator, and speaker.
The Passionate Pursuits of Angela Bowen is a feature length documentary that shares Bowen’s candid and compelling life stories. The film portrays all of Bowen’s “lives” and families, her role models, the dance and university students she mentored, and the LGBT activists and scholars she influenced – from the indiegogo page.

I didn’t even make one of those “You will be spend 20.00 in the club for a drink, but won’t spend 20 for a worthy pursuit.” comments…. Aren’t we proud of me?
