I have great news that I planned to share with you all a little bit later but y’all know I can’t hold water. Here it goes!
This is my last KListen post! [insert your fake sadface here].
We have a new contributor here at the KWord who will be giving you everything lesbians of color + music.
She will be introducing herself very soon, but until then I wanted to give you something to vibe to. I have been listening to this song on repeat for a while now. It is everything that I love about hip hop. It is conscious without being preachy, it is dope without selling out. I don’t know what else to say about it other than I love it (which is why I will leave the music reviews to the professionals).
From the artist herself:
“This joint here is not your average “on my grind” song. This describes all professions and everyone that works hard for there [sic] money and livelihood. I am extremely proud of this song as it speaks to me in ways I never could imagine, especially in terms of creativity.”
Enjoy…
Know anyone else we should feature? Let us know.
Oh and I might have been lying about it being my laaaaaaast KListen post. You know I can’t help myself. shrugs
