So I have totally been slacking on blogging recently and I hope this post partially explains why. A few weeks back I started making homemade, hand stitched journals as a hobby and well… it has blown up. It has been an amazing experience so far. I went from just spotlighting black lesbian owned businesses with #SupportBlackLezBiz to becoming one.
I am not really good about tooting my own horn or “selling things” but since some of my awesome blog readers have found out about my journals, I decided to share.
I make my hand stitched blank journals using coptic stitching. Without going into the history, the perk of bindng it this way allows the book to open completely flat at any page. So they are perfect for sketching / painting as well as writing. As for the covers, I pull the pieces from lots of different sources, so let’s get creative. How Does It Work? I design /create the cover and email you a picture proof. This way you can tell me if you want me to tweak it (or you can say you just LOVE it ha). Once approved, I will send you the invoice via paypal. After payment is received, I hand sew the pages together and complete the journal. It will be mailed the next day.
How Do I Place An Order? Send me an email kristi [at] thekword [dot] com. You can tell me specifically what you want or give me a concept. Do you like a certain sports team? Have a hobby? Favorite place? Let me know what you are going to be using it for (writing, scrapbooking, sketching) so I can use the correct weight of paper as well.
When Will I Get It? For concept to sending you the proof usually takes 2 days. Then once the invoice is paid it goes out in the mail the next day. The rest of the journey is up to USPS.
How Much Will It Cost? For 40 blank page, 5 by 7 journals, it is $10 plus $4.00 for shipping. For 40 blank page, 8 1/2 by 11 journals, it is $15 plus $4.00 for shipping. For 40 blank page, 10 by 10 journals, it is $20 plus $4.00 for shipping.

If you see anything you like I heardddddd that you can get 10% off your purchase with code: KWORD (I mean I said it, so of course I heard it). Oh and you know I had to make one for myself right?
