Ok so don’t let me lie to the universe (me included) and say I will be blogging everyday but I am definitely proud of myself with this two day in a row track record.
I haven’t done a Super Gay Movie Review in a looooong time. I actually didn’t have any plans on doing one today until I saw that it is the 26th anniversary of Mo Betta Blues.
I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!1
While reminiscing over all my favorite Spike Lee movies a vision of Kerry Washington’s pre-Scandal, fine as frog legs, extra big succulent lips having self flickered in my mind.
sigh
That’s pretty much all it took to get my CREATIVE juices flowing, so with that being said..
NOW WATCHING: She Hate Me directed by Spike Lee
The Plot Snapshot (that I remembered): A well educated, recently fired man (Anthony Mackie) pairs up with his ex-fiancee turned2 lesbian (Kerry Washington) to impregnate her and her partner (Dania Ramirez) and eventually 18 other women for 10K a pop.
[roll end credits]
Where are the Oscar nods? If it wasn’t nominated for picture of the year it was robbery!
Say what now… there is more to the movie than that?
I don’t know if it was because I was distracted by all sexy women (and an admittedly hot guy) having sex in the air, in the bathroom, in the bedroom, and hell with props. But my fond memories of this movie were a bit off.
Because I didn’t really remember the part about him being a corporate whisteblower with a full US Senate committee hearing… the fact that the lesbian couple that started this whole situation ended up in polyamorous relationship/family (with whistleblower dude and their chirren3 )… and I must admit I fastforwarded through much of the story line regarding Mama 18 and her mafioso daddy…
TOO MERCH… TOO DURN MERCH
Sigh…
Cheers to the ladies!
Can I just do a big fake smile and say watch it? Man I should have picked a different movie for me return.
