Chapter 8: Joy

When I didn’t hear anything, I turned around and gasped. Kevin was towering over me looking like a black Adonis. I was face to face with his dark chocolate skin and it took me everything not to touch it. I hadn’t seen his tattoos up close before. He had a simple cross and another tattoo of a woman’s name alongside Sinclair’s. I assumed it was his mother’s. I was pretty sure he didn’t have a girlfriend. I actually hadn’t seen any women around except that one girl Yaya, but I think she was his boy Boogie’s girl.

“You know I am going to marry your little ass right?”

Did he just say what I think he just said?

I started laughing, grabbing the pitcher of orange juice to put it on the table. Before I could take a step, he moved in front of me taking the pitcher and putting it back on the counter.

“Do I look like the kind of man who doesn’t say what they mean? I am going to marry you. So go ahead a dead whatever situation you have up there in Tallahassee. “

“What are you –”

“You don’t have to lie to me. I know you have some little school boy up there but it don’t even matter. Dead it. Got it?” he said lifting my face in his hands and giving me a kiss.

“Yes” I found myself saying.

“Oh and put a robe on or something, these niggas are going to be up any second. I got the table.”

I looked down and saw that my brakes nipples were hard and poking through my silk cami. I was sure my shorts were wet as well. With one more look in his eyes, I left him to set the table up and ran upstairs.

To like is superhuman, to comment is divine.
