“Babe what are you over there smiling about?” Kevin said with a raised eyebrow. I hadn’t even noticed that we were parked at the doctor’s office.
Damn I loved this man.
“You. Always you.” I leaned over and kissed his lips.
“Mmm hmm. I guess you are going to have me drive all the way down south for Popeye’s after this aren’t you?” he said, getting out the car and walking over to my side.
“Yep! But first let’s find out what color you are painting the nursery this weekend.”
The appointment went very well. One thing about Kevin, he did not like to wait so we walked right in. He also doesn’t like to be wrong. It looks like are having a boy. Kevin Sebastien Carver Jr.
As we walked out, I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t wait to call my mother and the girls. I was so caught up in the sonogram pictures I almost walked right into another woman who was coming out of the restroom. When I looked up I was surprised to see Boogie’s girl Yaya. He never told us she was pregnant.
“Yaya? Hey girl! It has been so long. I see Congratulations are in order!” I beamed at her. She looked cute in her maxi dress. I couldn’t imagine taking the time to put on a full face of makeup for the doctor’s office, but more power to her.
“Hi Joy. What’s up Money K? Yes I am about to pop any day now. I can’t wait to see our little princess.”
“I am going to kill Boogie. He didn’t say anything about you being pregnant!” I said, shaking my head.
“Boogie? Boogie isn’t the fa –.”
“Ok Babe. I just got a text I got to hit these streets. Let’s get you this Popeye’s. My son is hungry.” Kevin said cutting Yaya off.
This man is rude, he didn’t have to cut that girl off. But once he said the streets were calling, I knew we had to go. I probably wouldn’t see him for the rest of the night but that would be after we get my spicy three wing and biscuit meal with sweet heat sauce.
