Here is a repost from my trip to Rosarito, Mexico. It was absolutely necessary and absolutely right on time.
One of the best takeaways I had came in the cup (don’t judge me!). Say hola to the Mexican answer to the Bloody Mary – the Michelada! It’s light, refreshing and made with a dash of hot sauce.
I know… I know. I have been slacking on my blogging. There have been a lot of new developments in the world according to Kristi that I hope to share with you guys soon.
We just back this weekend from a really relaxing time in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos so I wanted to share some tips.
Turks and Caicos has the reputation of being a very expensive island to visit. We read stories of people having to take out loans for sunscreen and selling plasma to pay for drinks at the bar. While that wasn’t our experience, I can see how that happens. We did extremely well sticking to our budget but it was definitely a plan. Hola Lovebugs (or the the lovebugs who haven’t left me for greener blog pastures)!
I know it has been a while since I blogged, I would go into the sordid details… but not in this post. Just suffice it to say that… NOPE NOPE not this post
wink
But just know I am back, still black and still a lover of the lady parts!
What prompted me to get back on the e-mic? Three syllables Bar-Bay-Dos
I just had the most amazing time in Barbados this weekend. One Day + One Bag = The Kristi I love woke up.
Ok so I am writing this post while on fumes because I am afraid that if I try to write it after I wake up from the haze all the good stuff will be gone. I just had an amazing weekend in New York. Like slightly south of epic. I flew into New York for the Afropunk concert festival (more about that in 5 seconds) all by my lonesome. Now I will be going on and on about how dope it was for me to be flying by myself and doing the trip solo but to be honest I was supposed to be meeting my ex there, but she got sick. No not that ex… or that ex… but that one… Awww yeah her. We rekindled our friendship over an OKcupid mishap…
screeeeeeeeeeeech
I wasn’t going to write about this here…. because I actually forgot until this moment. BUT what in the hell is in the drinking water? In the last two- three months I have two different exes contact me to tell me that “friends” of mine have tried to hook up with them on the lowdown sneaky sly. WHO DOES THAT??? Well obviously these broads do… I mean I know I date dope chicks and the dating pool is shallow nowadays but GET YOUR LIFE… NOT MINE.
So I have had quite a few people ask me about how I travel so much or say that they would love to get out of the country for a few days. So after mulling it around and getting input from some of you I am inviting you all to my Memorial Weekend 2016 Trip.
But then the next question was where?
I love the Caribbean for lots of reasons. Great weather… laid back atmosphere… and usually great prices. The caveat being that many Caribbean islands aren’t exactly gay friendly and inclusive. No one wants to spend money to go on a trip to be shunned or having to hide. No bueno. So I was extremely pumped when I was told about Curacao not once but three times within a month.
Curacao is a beautiful island on the southern tip of the Caribbean just off the coast of Venezuela. It has gorgeous beaches, cultural attractions to visit AND Curacao prides itself on being gay friendly. It has the highest membership rate of businesses in the IGLTA (International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association) and a tight-knit community of friendly, accepting locals. And in case you were wondering, English is widely spoken on the island so another barrier is broken down.
Perfect? I knoooooooooow.
I am definitely going but I wanted to open it up to anyone else that wants to go as well. And no you don’t have to be gay… because that would be whack.
I have been home from Spain a total of 4 days. I am trying to get back into the swing of things but my life has been a little non-stop since hitting the tarmac.
I can’t wait to share my journey with you over the next few posts. The foodie in me has to start with one of the best dining experiences I have ever had abroad or in the states.
