Tiffany. Tiffany. Tiffany. Where have you been all my life?

*  head shaking and mouth pursed  *

You just spoke life into my whole existence… four years after this song released.

Cali native, Tiffany Gouché is a legit musical phenom. She has worked with a little bit of everyone from Ty Dolla $ign to Jill Scott to mutha Lauryn Hill.

And if you know you know her, but don’t know why you know her, she was a part of the Black and Sexy TV webseries back in the day as well.

But that is all very 2010s, let’s get into now.

When I started listening to this song today…and let the record show I have listened to it twice, I was shooketh. The visuals and movement took me to a place I needed to be. I thoroughly enjoyed the dance homage to the ORIGINAL She’s Got to Have It (intentional or not) that had me grooving at my desk.

The message was timeless. Haven’t we all had that friend that we know is just a friend… but you want to tell your fantasies to? Just me? shrugs

Take a look. Take a listen. What do you think? Continue reading KListen: @TiffanyGouche “Fantasy”

KLife: 5 Best Things About the Super Bowl Opening Ceremonies

Happy Super Bowl Week Lovebugs!

We are in full on Super Week hysteria in Miami. The traffic is backing up, celebrities are touching down and parties are going all around. If you are a sports fan or music fan, this is the place to be.

I must say I am not the biggest football fan. I love a good tailgate and the atmosphere, but I am definitely not a die hard fan. So I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting into when my friend Donna suggested we go to the Super Bowl opening night at the Marlins stadium to kick of Superbowl LIV. I knew I was going to have a good time with one of my great friends, but I was fully ready to be bored. Boy was I wrong! I had an absolute blast.

KTravel: Micheladas on Rosarito Beach

Hi Lovebugs!

Here is a repost from my trip to Rosarito, Mexico.  It was absolutely necessary and absolutely right on time.

One of the best takeaways I had came in the cup (don’t judge me!). Say hola to the Mexican answer to the Bloody Mary – the Michelada! It’s light, refreshing and made with a dash of hot sauce.

SUPER GAY MOVIE REVIEW OF THE WEEK: LEZ BOMB

MV5BMTcwN2MwYjMtMTQzMS00YTQyLTkyOTktZGE1NWJkMmM3Yzk5XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjE0MTQ5MzM@._V1_.jpg Sooo I know calling this the super gay movie review of the week is misleading.

This should be called the super gay movie review of the year… the decade… the first time in a really freaking long time.

Now if I was on top of my lezzie game I would have seen this around the holidays. But… I wasn’t. I was traipsing around Spain, Portugal and Morocco with Momma K (blog about that coming down the pike).

It was cool seeing the faces of actors I knew… if I only knew them by their faces. I was in, I was pumped. I was looking for a good laugh.

looks around and shrugs It definitely wasn’t something about Mary shrugs again

Now watching Lez Bomb, written and starring  directed by: Jenna Laurenzo

KRead: The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead

Yeah…yeah…yeah. I haven’t written in a while. The last few weeks at work and the rollercoaster that is my personal life have caught me slipping. But like Sister said to Celie, from now on NOTHING BUT DEATH WILL KEEP ME FROM IT. Well death and a bad wi-fi connection.

Anyway I have been reading A LOT of books lately and I can’t wait to share. Remember I told you all that Mama K and I have a book club. Well here is Mama K’s selection, The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. It was such an amazing read that I even suggested it to my 9 to 5 reading group. It was the kind of story that I needed to be a part of sharing.

Oh and before I forget, I want to pay it forward. Comment below and I will ship someone a copy of the book free. I only ask that you pass it along to someone else when you are done.

Did We Love It: Boozy Brunch + Burlesque Show at @jolenessf

Jolene’s Bar and Restaurant
2700 16th St
San Francisco, CA 94103

Cuisine: Brunch, Bar Food

Food: They have a really cute brunch menu. I can’t tell you what it takes like because I was too full to order food BUT the plates I saw people getting looked AMAZING! I would have definitely tried to grab a bite but I would have popped.

Drinks: While they have a full bar, I opted for the Think Pink. It is cocktail of St. Germain, Grey Goose, Vodka, Lemon and Grapefruit juice. The sugar on the rim was a good touch. Cheyenne the bartender did the damn thing!

Service: Ok so I will be honest, when I read the reviews of yelp I was concerned about the service. There were several comments about people receiving poor service and the bar staff being impolite. I had the absolute opposite experience. From the sweethearts behind the bar, to the amazing hostess who took the top off the pool table so we could play, the service was amazing.

Now granted you all know I will make a party wherever I go, but this was such a cool space. And crazy enough I ended up talking to Jolene and her crew, not even knowing who she was. We laughed and talked together until it was time to go to the airport. It was a great experience I would tell anyone and everyone to try it out.

The Show: Finally a burlesque show that is actually burlesque. Usually when people say burlesque, they mean a highly choreographed modern dance show … where the performers happen to be topless. Burlesque should have a little tease and a little fun. They were so amazing and lighthearted. Definitely a great time. I think the rotation  changes weekly.

img_4340.jpgWhat to Wear: Very come as you are.

Overall: 5 out of 5. Great experience. Definitely worth the hype. Nothing else to say.
