You just spoke life into my whole existence… four years after this song released.

Cali native, Tiffany Gouché is a legit musical phenom. She has worked with a little bit of everyone from Ty Dolla $ign to Jill Scott to mutha Lauryn Hill.

And if you know you know her, but don’t know why you know her, she was a part of the Black and Sexy TV webseries back in the day as well.

But that is all very 2010s, let’s get into now.

When I started listening to this song today…and let the record show I have listened to it twice, I was shooketh. The visuals and movement took me to a place I needed to be. I thoroughly enjoyed the dance homage to the ORIGINAL She’s Got to Have It (intentional or not) that had me grooving at my desk.

The message was timeless. Haven’t we all had that friend that we know is just a friend… but you want to tell your fantasies to? Just me? shrugs

Why I Need to Unfollow The National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce on Facebook

Now this is one of those blog posts that I have to think about before publishing. I talk to myself about it, I question myself about it, and hopefully I click publish in the end.

I overthink posts like this because I know what I am going to discuss can be as sensitive for you the reader as myself the writer. And deep down I don’t want the amazing non black queer people I know to think that this is about them… unless it is.

sigh

I have been home from Spain a total of 4 days. I am trying to get back into the swing of things but my life has been a little non-stop since hitting the tarmac.

I can’t wait to share my journey with you over the next few posts. The foodie in me has to start with one of the best dining experiences I have ever had abroad or in the states.

Super Gay Movie in the Works: Macho

I know it has been a while since I posted but between my journals and my trip to Spain (pics to be posted soon) and everything else crazy going on…. I have been swamped.

But the project I am about to share about was very very important to me for several reasons but I will give you two. 1. Friend of the blog (and real life), super director Deana Williams  is attached to the project. 2. It is being shot in North central Florida, which you know is where my people are from (yes I said it as country as it sounded). I can remember spending my childhood there drinking Bright n Early and sitting on the porch with my Ma Helen.

2015 is so close I can count the days… so I have to get my mind together for Operation Baby MSK1.

Can Lesbians be Church Queens — or Am I a Church Queen?

Don’t roll your eyes. I am really need to know about this. Because I am feeling some kind of way…1.

I am pretty sure y’all know what church queens are (or can guess). It is a gay (often closeted) man in the church who sighs heavily and sucks their teeth when they see a more flamboyant gay man walk down the aisle at altar call. If you are trying to spot him, he can usually be seen sporting a pastel polkadot bow tie with matching pocket square (no shade).2

Sex and the Single-ish Life… or What Wet Dreams May Come

sex.jpgIf you follow me on twitter, you will know two things for sure. I revel in irreverence and I haven’t had sex since my 20s.

Don’t make that face. It is a mix of a long winded end to a LDR and a celibate period of self-discovery… or that’s what I tell myself. Hell even before my self imposed drought, my last few relationships were long distance. So the plan was clear when it came to knocking boots.
