Happy Birthday to Me #SRInTheBagChallenge

Hi Lovebugs!

Today I looked at the calendar and realized that in 20 days your girl will be celebrating her 28th birthday… for the 9th time. Wow how time flies.

For those who know me in the “real world”, since 2015, I have been happy and blessed to incorporate social gifting into my birthday fun.

One part party and one part cause, I invited friends to my annual birthday kickbacks, where I provided all the drinks and food. The only thing that I asked was for people to bring items for us to compile and distribute to the local homeless community. The response was amazing. I am blessed to have friends that jumped on the call to action. Year after year, the bags got bigger and they were still consistently filled[1].

This year I am taking the challenge outside (and inside) of Miami. I am asking you all to help me with the Sew Right In the Bag Birthday challenge. Continue reading Happy Birthday to Me #SRInTheBagChallenge

Hi Lovebugs!

Hope everyone had a nice Memorial weekend.

I will say I had a whirlwind weekend that ended up being beautiful after a storm.

I will blog about it one day soon (I think) but until then I have to tell you about the fabulous thing I learned about this weekend, the Brightline train.

So for those of us who were living under a rock, the Brightline train is the new-ish way to get from downtown Miami all the way to West Palm Beach (with one additional stop in Fort Lauderdale). Continue reading Sew Right Journeys: Brightline

Set it Right Sundays #2 – You are a Whole Mood!

Hi Lovebugs!

I am back! I planned on writing another post Thursday, but y’all know work was trying my patience. However, the week and the project actually both ended on a high note and I’m still gainfully employed [1].

So I am continuing to hydrate, my skin is glowing up [2], and fasting is still a thing all 2019. Continue reading Set it Right Sundays #2 – You are a Whole Mood!

Per our last conversation…

Jesus be a fence… around me and my da– doggone desk.

I was having a great week at work. Feeling accomplished. Being a team player. Getting compliments on how great my makeup looks today from a legit celebrity makeup artist. Living my best 9 to 5 life…. until about 126 minutes ago.

The devil tried to get busy and I had to shoot the most “PER OUR LAST CONVERSATION HOE”[1] email that I have ever sent in my life… so far. Continue reading Per our last conversation…

Set it Right Sundays – #1 – Seeking and Capturing Peace

Happy Sunday (and of course more specifically — Happy Mother’s Day).

I was going to write a post about my mother… then I was going to write a post about the debacle I had with Proflowers over Jai’s mother’s flowers… then I was going to write about my own current journey trying to conceive…

Obviously by the title and the picture of me covered in bubbles none of those happened.

Today is all about seeking and capturing peace.

It’s a Take A Village To Live the SRL

Good morning Lovebugs,

I am up bright and early this morning overcome with a sense of gratitude. No this is not a gushy post about my partner, this one is a shout out to all the women in my sister circle that are helping make me better every single day.

For a second, I was going to list them by name but as you read the blog over time, you will get to know many of them so that didn’t seem to be the answer.

I will instead just give you a snippet of my morning and how two of them made an impact in my life from the moment I woke up.

I’m Hungry…

Picture it Sicilly…

Ok I’m not sure why I just had this Golden Girls moment except for the fact that I am becoming delirious. Jai (the boo) and I are trying intermittent fasting… again.[1]

For those that don’t know what intermittent fasting is, here is the rundown as I know [2]

So first things first intermittent fasting is a life change not a diet. [3] . It is basically using your clock, instead of your calories, to set your eating plans and reach your weight loss goals. Sounds good eh? For someone like me that will eat when I am bored I think it will help. For Jai, it will help her be more focused on eating and be one less thing she has to figure out. Win Win right?
